Using industrial heritage to inspire poetry

Pit Porcelain Paper was a pilot arts project by Wheal Martyn Museum, run in partnership with Kernow Education Arts Partnership, which brought schoolchildren together with artists to create poetry inspired by the museum’s industrial heritage.

The children had the opportunity to go outside the classroom and engage with the landscape, stories and machinery at the museum, a former china clay mine, offering new ways to learn and develop creativity.
