Building Foundations: Transforming Facilities Management
Online, Zoom
None of the important work that museums do – from conserving collections to running school workshops and engaging with diverse communities – can happen without the facilities work that goes on behind the scenes.
As museums continue to align their values and missions with all aspects of their work, now is the time to examine how facilities management fits into that picture. This online event will look at some of the key issues facing museum facility management at this time – such as repairing leaky roofs while continuing to welcome visitors, or reducing the carbon footprint of storage units.
Through a mix of panel discussions, case studies and audience participation, delegates will have the chance to share their own experiences and hear more about innovative practice across the sector.
This event will be valuable for…
- facilities managers
- operations workers
- buildings managers
- museums with a greening agenda
- managers and curators of small museums
- stores managers
- those with responsibility for risk and security management.
A full programme will be available in due course.
Please note that this event will be recorded and available exclusively to delegates for three months. After that time, it will be made available to members on the Museums Association website.
We aim to present a diverse range of speakers from across the UK and internationally at our one-day conferences. If you are interested in speaking at one of our events, or have a project you’d like to see explored, please tell us more by emailing the events team.
