Object Description
21 empty guilt frames dated between late-19th – early-20th Century, mostly manufactured in the UK + 2 potentially in Spain.
Size range: 1560 x 1338 x 10 mm – 396 x 336 x 43 mm.
Assessment by frame conservator notes them all as commonplace and in generally good condition.
There are several frames that were assessed as European-made, and some with interesting details that suggest they were designed by, or designed in the style of, particular frame makers.
Disposing as they have no strong links to material in our current collections and are currently not being used for public benefit. Offering as a donation to another organisation who might be able to put them on public display and/or make available for research.
We can arrange for the acquisition of a selection of the x21 rather than the entire collection. We can also arrange delivery with you. If you want any more information about a specific frame just get in touch!
