Kinvara Jardine Paterson to join MA board as climate trustee
We’re delighted to announce that Kinvara Jardine Paterson is joining the MA board as our climate champion trustee. Kinvara succeeds former climate trustee Sara Kassam.
She will work with fellow board members and MA staff to support the delivery of the MA’s climate initiatives, including our Museums for Climate Justice campaign.
Kinvara is a communications expert specialising in youth, education and climate action. As education director at Project Everyone, she collaborates with global businesses, governments and UN agencies to inspire youth action for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Her previous campaigns have engaged people across 135 countries. Currently, she leads one of the world’s largest youth voice programmes exploring the impact of climate education on students.
Kinvara is also an advisor to CONCAT Tech, a web development agency focused on showcasing the skills of female and refugee talent in the Middle East.
On her appointment, Kinvara said: “I am incredibly honoured and humbled to take on the role of climate champion trustee with the Museums Association. Museums hold the unique power to tell stories that inspire action, deepen our connection to the natural world, and highlight how communities are uniting to address the climate and nature crisis.
“I am deeply grateful to Sara Kassam and look forward to building on her legacy to continue championing climate justice and action throughout the MA’s work. It is a true privilege to take on this role.”
Kinvara will assume her role on 1 February.
