Our response to the Northern Ireland Executive’s Programme for Government 2024-27

The Museums Association (MA) has responded to the Northern Ireland Executive’s consultation on its draft Programme for Government 2024-27.

In our response, we:

• Raised that museums can support the Executive’s priorities to grow a globally competitive and sustainable economy, to create safer communities, and to protect the environment.
• Asked for culture to be recognised as a priority, and for the Programme for Government to include the Department for Communities’ commitments to publish a new museum policy and create a culture, arts and heritage strategy.
• Highlighted how museums can support the Executive’s missions of people, planet, prosperity and peace.
• Raised the importance of strategic public investment in culture.
